These Game-Day Mini Football Meatball Sliders are quick, easy, and perfect for feeding a crowd. With frozen meatballs, marinara, melty cheese, and garlic butter-topped rolls, they come together in under 30 minutes and disappear fast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2430 mini frozen fully cooked meatballs (or 1215 regular-sized)
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 12-count package slider buns or Hawaiian rolls (e.g., King’s Hawaiian)
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley or basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC).
  2. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the frozen meatballs and the entire jar of marinara sauce. Stir gently, cover, and simmer for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until meatballs are heated through and sauce is bubbly.
  3. Using a sharp knife, slice the entire block of rolls in half horizontally, keeping them connected as a single top and bottom slab. Place the bottom half in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  4. Lay 4 slices of provolone cheese evenly over the bottom rolls.
  5. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the warmed meatballs from the sauce to the baking dish, placing them evenly over the cheese. Spoon about half of the remaining sauce over the meatballs.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella over the meatballs, then top with the remaining 4 slices of provolone.
  7. Place the top half of the rolls over the cheese and meatballs, pressing down gently.
  8. In a small mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, garlic powder, dried oregano, and salt. Stir until well mixed.
  9. Brush the garlic butter generously over the tops of the rolls. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
  10. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 10 minutes.
  11. Remove the foil and bake for another 8-10 minutes, until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly around the edges.
  12. Let the sliders rest in the dish for 5 minutes before cutting. Use a sharp knife to cut between the rolls. Serve warm, garnished with fresh parsley or basil if desired.

Notes

Don’t skip the bottom cheese layerโ€”it prevents sogginess. Use a slotted spoon for meatballs to avoid excess sauce. Let sliders rest 5 minutes before cutting for clean slices. For a crowd, double the batch.
