This copycat recipe delivers the iconic Starbucks Pumpkin Cream Cold Foam Coffee at home in under 10 minutes. With a velvety, stable cold foam and the perfect blend of spices, it’s the ultimate fall coffee fix without the drive or price tag.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons whole milk (or oat milk for dairy-free)
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin purée (not pumpkin pie filling)
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup or simple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled slightly
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional: 1-2 tablespoons milk or cream for coffee base

Instructions

  1. Brew your coffee. Make about 1 cup of strong coffee using 2 tablespoons of dark roast grounds per cup of water. Let it cool slightly while you prepare the foam.
  2. Make the pumpkin cream mixture. In a small bowl or frother cup, combine heavy cream, whole milk, pumpkin purée, maple syrup, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla extract. Stir gently to break up the pumpkin purée.
  3. Froth the cream. Using a milk frother, blend until thick and foamy, about 30-45 seconds, until doubled in volume with soft peaks. Alternatively, shake in a jar for 1 minute or use a French press for 30 seconds.
  4. Fill a tall glass with ice cubes to the top.
  5. Pour the cooled brewed coffee over the ice, filling the glass about 3/4 full.
  6. Gently spoon or pour the cold foam over the top of the coffee.
  7. Finish with a light sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice on top. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use cold cream and milk straight from the fridge for best foam. Don’t over-froth; aim for soft, pillowy peaks. Let coffee cool 3-5 minutes before pouring over ice to prevent melting. For dairy-free, use full-fat coconut cream and oat milk. The pumpkin cream mixture can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days; re-froth before using.
