A festive and creamy layered jello shot recipe perfect for patriotic celebrations, combining fruity gelatin layers with a smooth cream cheese middle layer for a fun party treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Red Layer: 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) strawberry or cherry flavored gelatin
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • ½ cup (120 ml) cold vodka or water for non-alcoholic
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • White Creamy Layer: 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) unflavored gelatin
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • ½ cup (120 ml) cold vodka or water for non-alcoholic
  • 4 oz (115 g) cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup (120 ml) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Blue Layer: 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) blueberry or blue raspberry flavored gelatin
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • ½ cup (120 ml) cold vodka or water for non-alcoholic

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Red Layer: Dissolve the red gelatin powder in 1 cup boiling water, stirring until completely dissolved. Add ½ cup cold vodka or water and 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice. Stir gently. Pour evenly into shot cups or molds, filling about one-third full. Chill in refrigerator for 20-30 minutes until firm but slightly tacky.
  2. Make the White Creamy Layer: Bloom the unflavored gelatin by sprinkling it over 1 cup boiling water, stirring until dissolved. Let cool slightly but do not set. Beat softened cream cheese with sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract until smooth. Slowly whisk gelatin mixture into cream cheese blend until fully incorporated with no lumps.
  3. Layer the White Creamy Mixture: Gently spoon or pour the creamy white layer over the set red layer slowly to avoid mixing colors. Refrigerate for 20-30 minutes until firm but tacky.
  4. Prepare the Blue Layer: Dissolve blue gelatin in 1 cup boiling water, stirring thoroughly. Add ½ cup cold vodka or water and stir. Cool slightly so it is not hot, then carefully pour over the white layer. Chill for at least 1 hour until fully set.
  5. Serving: Once fully chilled, serve layered jello shots chilled. If using molds, gently pop them out onto a tray. If using cups, serve as is with a small spoon or toothpick.

Notes

Chill each layer until just set but still tacky to help layers stick and keep edges crisp. Cool gelatin mixtures to near room temperature before pouring over previous layer to avoid melting. Use softened cream cheese at room temperature for smooth texture. Shots can be made a day ahead and stored covered in refrigerator for up to 3 days. Avoid freezing to prevent texture degradation.
