Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce
  • 1/2 cup ranch or blue cheese dressing
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 package (about 50) square wonton wrappers
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • Avocado oil spray

Instructions

  1. Make the filling: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded chicken, buffalo wing sauce, ranch dressing, shredded cheddar, crumbled blue cheese (if using), garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until well combined and creamy. Set aside.
  2. Set up your assembly station: Lay out a clean cutting board or counter space. Place your stack of wonton wrappers nearby, covered with a damp paper towel. In a small bowl, beat the egg with a tablespoon of water to create your egg wash.
  3. Assemble the wontons: Take one wonton wrapper and place it on your work surface like a diamond (one point facing you). Place about 1 tablespoon of the filling in the center. Dip your finger or a pastry brush in the egg wash and lightly moisten the edges of the wrapper. Fold the bottom point up to meet the top point, forming a triangle. Press out any air bubbles as you seal the edges. Then, take the two side points and bring them together, overlapping them slightly, and press to seal. Place the f…
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3 minutes.
  5. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with avocado oil. Place the wontons in a single layer in the basket, making sure they don’t touch. Lightly spray the tops of the wontons with oil. Air fry at 375°F for 4 minutes. Carefully flip each wonton with tongs and spray the other side. Air fry for another 4-5 minutes, until deep golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove the wontons from the air fryer and let them cool on a wire rack for about 2 minutes. Serve warm with extra ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping.

Notes

Don’t overfill the wontons; use about 1 tablespoon of filling per wrapper. Seal edges tightly with egg wash to prevent bursting. Work in batches to avoid crowding the air fryer. Spray both sides of wontons with oil for maximum crispiness. Let them rest on a wire rack after cooking to keep bottoms crispy. For a dairy-free version, use vegan cream cheese and dairy-free ranch. For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free wonton wrappers.
