These mummy hot dog bites are a fun and easy Halloween treat made with crescent dough wrapped around hot dogs, topped with a spider web mustard design. Perfect for parties and a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 standard-sized hot dogs (cut in half crosswise to make 16 pieces)
  • 2 cans (8 ounces each) crescent roll dough (16 crescent rolls total)
  • 23 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • Cooking spray or melted butter (optional, for brushing on top)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Cut the hot dogs in half crosswise to make 16 pieces. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
  3. Open the crescent roll dough and separate along the perforations. Let sit for 2 minutes at room temperature.
  4. Cut each triangle lengthwise into 3-4 thin strips (about 1/2 inch wide) using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
  5. Wrap each hot dog piece with a dough strip at an angle, overlapping slightly. Leave a 1/4 to 1/2 inch gap near the top for the eyes. Tuck the end under the hot dog.
  6. Place wrapped mummies on the prepared baking sheet, about 1 inch apart. Brush with melted butter if desired.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown and flaky.
  8. Let cool for 2-3 minutes on the baking sheet.
  9. Fill a squeeze bottle with yellow mustard. Pipe two small dots on each mummy for eyes.
  10. For the spider web design, pipe a spiral of mustard on the serving platter. Use a toothpick to drag lines from the center outward, creating a web pattern.
  11. Arrange mummy bites on or around the spider web and serve warm.

Notes

Keep the dough cold for easier handling. Stretch strips gently for thinner wrappings. Leave enough space for eyes. Practice spider web pattern on a plate first. Best served warm.
