A quick and easy creamy dip combining the sweet tartness of cranberry sauce with the spicy kick of jalapeño, finished with a honey drizzle for perfect balance. Ideal for last-minute gatherings and crowd-pleasing occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz (226 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup (240 ml) cranberry sauce, canned or homemade
  • 1 medium jalapeño pepper, finely chopped (seeds removed for milder heat)
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) honey, for drizzling
  • ½ teaspoon (1.5 g) garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) lime juice (optional but recommended)
  • ¼ teaspoon (1.5 g) salt, to taste
  • ⅛ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper (a pinch)

Instructions

  1. Soften the cream cheese by leaving it out at room temperature for about 5 minutes.
  2. Rinse the jalapeño, cut off the stem, slice in half, remove seeds if desired, and finely chop.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, cranberry sauce, chopped jalapeño, garlic powder, lime juice, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Fold the ingredients together gently with a spatula or spoon until well blended and creamy with visible bits of jalapeño and cranberry.
  5. Transfer the dip to a serving dish and smooth the top.
  6. Drizzle honey evenly over the surface of the dip.
  7. Serve immediately or chill for 15-30 minutes to let flavors meld.

Notes

For a smoother texture, beat the cream cheese with a mixer before folding in other ingredients. Adjust jalapeño seeds to control heat. Drizzle honey is key for balancing flavors. Can be warmed gently in an ovenproof dish at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes to serve warm.
