This quick and easy fudge recipe uses marshmallow creme for a light, fluffy texture that’s perfectly sliceable. Made with simple pantry staples, it’s a crowd-pleaser that disappears fast at holiday parties and bake sales.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups (525g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 can (14 ounces/397g) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 jar (7 ounces/198g) marshmallow creme
  • 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, cut into cubes
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (120g) chopped walnuts (optional)
  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil, leaving some overhang on two sides. Lightly grease with butter or non-stick spray. Set aside.
  2. In a large heavy-bottomed saucepan over low heat, combine the chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and cubed butter.
  3. Stir gently but continuously with a wooden spoon or silicone spatula for 5-7 minutes until everything melts together into a smooth, glossy sauce.
  4. Remove the pan from the heat. Immediately add the entire jar of marshmallow creme and stir vigorously until fully incorporated, about 2-3 minutes. The mixture will thicken and become slightly lighter in color.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of sea salt. If using nuts, fold them in now.
  6. Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan and spread evenly with a spatula.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until firm to the touch. For cleaner cuts, let set for 3-4 hours.
  8. Once set, lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment overhang. Place on a cutting board and cut into 1-inch squares with a sharp knife, wiping the knife clean between cuts. Serve at room temperature.

Notes

Keep heat low to prevent scorching. Don’t over-stir once marshmallow creme is added to avoid graininess. Use room-temperature ingredients. For clean cuts, wipe knife between slices. Fudge can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week, or refrigerated for up to 2 weeks. Freezes well for up to 3 months.
