This roasted garlic honey is a simple, natural remedy for sore throats and coughs. Made with just two ingredients, it soothes and supports immune health without artificial flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 head of garlic
  • 1 cup raw honey
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)
  • A pinch of ground ginger (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice off the top quarter-inch of the garlic head to expose the cloves.
  2. Place the garlic cut-side up in a small baking dish. Drizzle with a tiny bit of olive oil (optional). Cover tightly with aluminum foil.
  3. Roast for 35-45 minutes until cloves are soft and golden. Let cool for 10 minutes.
  4. Squeeze the roasted cloves out from the bottom; discard skins. Mash lightly with a fork if desired.
  5. In a small saucepan, combine roasted garlic and honey. Warm over lowest heat for 2-3 minutes, stirring gently. Do not boil.
  6. Stir in lemon juice or ginger if using. Taste and adjust.
  7. Pour into a clean glass jar. Cool completely before sealing. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 months.

Notes

Do not use a metal container for storage; glass is best. If honey crystallizes, place jar in warm water and stir. Never microwave. Not suitable for infants under 1 year.
