Spooky Easy Spider Web Charcuterie Board for Halloween

Spooky Easy Spider Web Charcuterie Board for Halloween - featured image

A quick and impressive Halloween charcuterie board arranged in a spider web pattern using everyday ingredients. Perfect for last-minute parties, this no-cook appetizer looks like you spent hours on it but comes together in under 15 minutes.

Ingredients

  • Round crackers or flatbreads
  • Sliced salami or pepperoni
  • String cheese or mozzarella sticks
  • Black olives
  • Red pepper strips or sun-dried tomatoes
  • Cheese cubes or slices (cheddar, gouda, or provolone)
  • Grapes or berries
  • Nuts (almonds, walnuts, or pecans)
  • Dips or spreads (hummus, ranch dip, or honey mustard)
  • Pretzel sticks (optional)
  • Halloween-themed crackers (optional)
  • Olive tapenade (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients: Wash and dry grapes/berries. Cut cheese into small cubes or thin slices (about half-inch pieces). Slice string cheese into thin strips lengthwise.
  2. Place a small bowl or ramekin in the center of your board. Fill with black olives. For a decorative spider, take one large olive, cut a small slit, and insert a tiny piece of red pepper for eyes.
  3. Create the first web ring: About 2 inches from the center bowl, arrange crackers or flatbreads in a complete circle around the bowl, spaced about half an inch apart.
  4. Add the meat strands: Fold salami or pepperoni slices in half twice to create small triangles. Place between crackers in the first ring with pointed ends facing outward.
  5. Build the second ring: About 2 inches outside the first ring, create another circle using cheese cubes and string cheese strips. Alternate them so colors pop, with cheese strips pointing toward center.
  6. Fill the outer sections: Place grapes, berries, and nuts in small clusters between the second ring and board edge. Leave some negative space. Add a small bowl of dip in one outer section.
  7. Add finishing touches: Arrange pretzel sticks sticking out from under the center bowl like spider legs (4-6 evenly spaced). Fill any obvious gaps with extra nuts or small crackers.
  8. Final check: Ensure the web pattern is visible from above with concentric circles connected by meat and cheese strands. Rearrange if needed.

Notes

Assemble up to 4 hours ahead and refrigerate. Remove 20 minutes before serving for best flavor. The web pattern works with any ingredients – customize based on what you have. For best visual contrast, use ingredients with different colors. Don’t overthink the pattern; keep it loose and organic.
