These light and crispy baked apple chips are the perfect easy snack, made with just apples, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. They’re a crowd-pleaser that steals the show at any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 large apples (Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Gala)
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 tiny pinch salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 225°F (110°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Wash and core your apples. Do not peel them.
  3. Slice the apples as thin as possible, about 1/8 inch (3 mm) thick.
  4. Blot the slices with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Let them sit for 5 minutes.
  5. Arrange the slices in a single layer on the baking sheets with space between each slice.
  6. Sprinkle with cinnamon using a fine-mesh strainer. Flip and sprinkle the other side. Add a tiny pinch of salt if using.
  7. Bake for 60 minutes, rotating the baking sheets halfway through.
  8. Flip the slices and bake for another 30 to 45 minutes until dry and curled at the edges.
  9. Let them cool completely on the baking sheets for about 15 minutes before serving.

Notes

The paper towel trick is non-negotiable for crispiness. Even slicing is key. Don’t crowd the pan. Cool completely before storing. For extra crispiness, use a dehydrator at 135°F (57°C) for 6 to 8 hours.
